We welcome both members and non-members to attend our meetings and other events listed below.\u00a0 All events involve learning about some aspect of gardening, floral design, nature, or environmental issues, and most importantly: socializing and having fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a few important pieces of information for recurring events:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members\u2019 Monthly Meetings: <\/strong>Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from September to June in the Auditorium in Central Arena, 519 Drury Lane, Burlington. Please see map below. January’s meeting is the exception since it is online. Members will automatically receive the link by email.<\/mark><\/bdo><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 6:30-7:00 pm is our social time: giving our members and guests time to have a coffee\/tea and a baked treat as well as buy tickets to our in-house raffle draw (fundraiser).\u00a0 We also have an information table for attendees to browse.\u00a0\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 7:00 pm onwards our formal meeting begins: first with announcements by the President and followed by our guest speaker. \u00a0 Afterwards there is a \u201cquestion and answer\u201d period.\u00a0 The meeting concludes by 9 pm but not before picking the winning tickets for our draw prizes.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests are welcome to attend a meeting before membership is required.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Meetings: <\/strong>These meetings via zoom deal with the administration of the Society.\u00a0 Since the Society is run only by volunteers (no paid staff), it is important that all members become involved in helping to run the Society. \u00a0 All members are welcome to attend these meetings held on the third Wednesday of the month from September to June.\u00a0 Please email burlhortsoc@gmail.com<\/a> for the zoom link.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshops: <\/strong>Various workshops are offered throughout the year, and usually involve a fee to pay for materials, rental of room, and instructor honorarium.\u00a0 Locations, times, length of workshop varies.\u00a0 Please see details for each specific workshop.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plant sale: <\/strong>details will be posted.\u00a0 Please come out and support our major fundraising event of the year!<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

District 6 and Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) Events<\/strong>:\u00a0 As part of our regional group (District 6) and the provincial Ontario Horticultural Association, members are also encouraged to attend these out-of-town events.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n
