Events Calendar 2026

We welcome both members and non-members to attend our meetings and other events listed below. All events involve learning about some aspect of gardening, floral design, nature, or environmental issues, and most importantly: socializing and having fun!

Here are a few important pieces of information for recurring events:

Members’ Monthly Meetings: Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month from September to June in the Auditorium in Central Arena, 519 Drury Lane, Burlington. Please see map below. January’s meeting is the exception since it is online. Members will automatically receive the link by email. From 6:30-7:00 pm is our social time: our members and guests have time to have a coffee/tea and a baked treat as well as buy tickets for our in-house raffle draw (fundraiser). We also have an information table with free handouts. From 7:00 pm onwards our formal meeting begins with announcements by the President and followed by our guest speaker. Afterwards there is a “question and answer” period. The meeting concludes by 9 pm but not before picking the winning tickets for our draw prizes! Guests are welcome to attend one meeting before membership is required.

Executive Meetings: These virtual meetings deal with the administration of the Society. Since the Society is run only by volunteers (no paid staff), it is important that all members become involved in helping to run the Society. All members are welcome to attend these meetings held on the third Wednesday of the month from September to June. Please email burlhortsoc@gmail.com for the link.

Workshops, Special Events, and Plant Sale: Various workshops are offered throughout the year, and usually involve a fee to pay for materials, rental of room, and instructor honorarium. Locations, times, length of workshop varies.

Special Events involve a variety of activities including garden tours and other educational activities.

Plant sale: Please come out and support our major fundraising event of the year!

District 6 and Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) Events: As part of our regional group (District 6) and the provincial Ontario Horticultural Association, members are also encouraged to attend these out-of-town events.
